Discovering the Treasures of the Northwest

Now you can enjoy a full day of exploration, allowing you to access places not typically visited by other tours and ensuring you take away an unforgettable memory.

This route combines several elements: a gentle hike through a forest where scenes from series have been filmed, savoring a traditional homemade menu by Eufrosina, one of the women who has carved a niche in the island’s winemaking world. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to capture the coveted photo at Porís de Candelaria, a small corner shaped by the residents of Tijarafe, taking advantage of existing caves.

We begin with a bus journey from the east to the north of the island, reaching the municipality of Garafía. There, our hiking route begins in La Zarza, covering approximately 6 km in about 2 hours of walking amid slender heathers and the sound of birds that transport us into a fairy-tale movie. During the journey, we’ll discover some engravings from our early settlers, the impressive Caldera del Agua, and, of course, one of the reasons La Palma is called “beautiful.” Our arrival at the well-known Plaza del Gallo marks the end of the hiking part of this excursion.

Next, we’ll take a bus to Eufrosina’s Wineries. This stop is not only for lunch but also to delight in the privileged environment where this place is carefully cared for and protected. An alternative option for lunch is the Pino de La Virgen restaurant.

Upon completion, we’ll head towards the coast of the municipality of Tijarafe, where, after a descent on a road that will leave you speechless and where our drivers can showcase their skill behind the wheel, we’ll reach the parking lot from which a cement path, about 10 minutes long, begins.

This will lead us to Porís, a charming spot bathed by the Atlantic, which, combined with the light of the area, creates a peaceful space that will enchant you. It is a true treasure for locals and visitors alike.

The only thing left is the return to the east side of the island, not before enjoying the best views of the Aridane Valley from the El Time viewpoint.”
