Take your time to get to know one of the mythical hiking trails of the island of La Palma, the famous “MARCOS Y CORDERO”. We will take you to the starting point with our 4×4 transfer so you can enjoy the experience of walking through the heart of the La Palma Biosphere Reserve.

Get ready to enjoy spectacular views, a splendid Laurisilva forest and cross the 13 tunnels dug into the mountain to channel the valuable water from the natural springs of Marcos and Cordero.

The most common route starts at the Casa del Monte at an altitude of almost 1,400m. From there you go through 12 tunnels until you reach, after about two hours, the Naciente de Marcos. Tunnel number 12, throughout the year, has water in its interior that filters over all those who pass through it, which is why rain protection is recommended here.

The trail continues with an easy climb next to the small waterfalls of the Marcos spring to reach Naciente de Cordero after a final tunnel.  This place is ideal to stop to have something to eat and rest before starting the intense descent towards Bosque de Los Tilos.  The imposing vegetation of the Laurisilva forest will accompany you, along with the fauna of the place and the silence that characterizes this part of the island. There is no mobile phone signal, so you can completely surrender to nature.

After approximately 3 hours, you will reach the Los Tilos recreation area, the end point of the trail. There you will find a visitor centre where you can learn a little more about the place you have just enjoyed with all your senses. Not far from there is the Los Tilos waterfall, the perfect place to end an unforgettable walk.

In this area our transfer will be waiting for you again to take you back to your initial pick-up point. This is one of the hiking routes you can’t miss, so what are you waiting for to explore the island of La Palma? We’ll take you there!
