THEMED ROUTE BY BUS WITH ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATION

A journey to the stars

With this route you can see one of the best skies on the island by day and night. We will take you from the pick-up point to the viewpoint Roque de los Muchachos at 2426 m. high. This natural enclave is also home to the Astrophysical Observatory of Roque de Los Muchachos (ORM), a renowned scientific research center.

On the way to the highest point of the island, we will drive with our bus through the area where the telescopes are located on both sides of the road.

We will talk about each of them and why they chose this extraordinary place for their location. You can get to know first-hand the sky of La Palma and the peculiarities of this observatory, considered one of the best places in the world for the practice of astronomy.

Not far from these facilities, touching above the clouds and the sky, we can enjoy an unforgettable sunset, accompanied by a glass of wine. In the darkness of the night, at a nearby astronomical viewpoint,  an amateur telescope observation takes place. Our team of Starlight guides will give you the opportunity to discover an infinity of stars and not only that, but also galaxies, planets, nebulae, groups of stars, etc.  …. .

Come and enjoy the route with the peace and safety offered by our buses and experienced drivers. So that you do not have to drive at night, ?

The infinity of the sky of La Palma will captivate you.

More information

  • Cancellations: Astronomical routes may be cancelled due to weather causes: high clouds, wind or snow/ice (for example) that prevent activity. In this case, you have the option of changing the date during the stay or getting a refund of the full amount of the cost of the activity.
  • If there is a change, due to weather or similar, we will communicate this in the same afternoon to the telephone number provided during the reservation.
  • Indispensable in all seasons: warm clothes, closed shoes, and long trousers.
  • The observation takes place at one of the numerous astronomical viewpoints of the island. Astronomical (night) tours do NOT take place at the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory, as the observatory is closed to the public at night.
  • There will be no activity on full moon dates because the light from the moon affects the visibility of the remaining stars.
  • The start time of the route can be changed as it depends on the time of sunset.
